Troubleshooting

Connecting

"No wallet found." The site looks for a browser wallet. Install one, or on a phone, open dovejournal.com inside your wallet app's own browser.

The wallet is on the wrong network. The site asks your wallet to switch to Robinhood Chain, chain id 4663, and to add it if it is missing. If your wallet refuses, add it by hand with the details on contracts and addresses.

"The signature did not verify." The sign-in message is valid for 10 minutes and works once. Press Connect wallet again for a fresh one.

Unlocking

"You need 0.25 USDG on Robinhood Chain." The wallet's USDG balance on chain 4663 is below the price. USDG on another chain does not count.

It asks me to approve first. That is the one-time USDG approval for Permit2. It is the only step of a purchase that costs gas, so the wallet needs a little ETH.

"USDG is not approved for payments yet." The approval has not confirmed yet. Wait a few seconds and press Unlock again.

"The payment doesn't match the current price or recipient." The price changed or the journal's token changed hands between the challenge and your signature. Try again.

"The payment facilitator didn't respond." Nothing was charged. Try again in a moment.

I signed the first payment and then closed the page. Open the journal and press Unlock again. The site sees the fee is already paid and only asks for the second signature.

I paid but the text did not load. Refresh. Your unlock is recorded against your wallet, and the journal is also under History in the menu on your address.

Writing

"These citations are not in the archive." A citation must be an existing accession number, exactly, such as [DJ-AAPL-260918-01]. Insert them from the panel on the right of the composer instead of typing them.

The audit says revise. Read each issue. The most common one is a claim the cited entry does not make. Either cite the entry that does, or frame the sentence as your reading of the record.

"This draft has used all of its audits." A draft gets 8. Start a new draft with the text you want to keep.

"That token points at a different journal." The mint must be called with the metaUrl returned by the audit, unchanged.

Voting

"Only wallets that unlocked a journal can vote on it." Vote from the wallet that bought it.
